Tualatin River Photographic Society (TRPS) provides photographers who have an interest in nature photography a variety of opportunities to improve their skills and share knowledge with others. Photographers of all levels participate in TRPS meetings, field trips, and educational programs. We welcome visitors and new members.
We are a program of the Friends of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, a non-profit organization.
TRPS meets the first Thursday of each month from September through June. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Riparian Room at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge, 19255 SW Pacific Hwy, Sherwood, OR 97140.
Contrary to any other annoucements, there is NO meeting in September for the Photo Society in the Riparian Room on the first (or second Thursday).
Instead we will put together a meet-up, likely on Saturday evening, September 8 or September 15, to go out of the metro area in order to make photographs of the milky way.
Photographers of all skill level are encouraged to attend - you will need a tripod, and a cable release with some means of timing. This will be a no-lights, not even a red flashlight, during the times we are imaging the sky. (it shows up in the forground -- from flashlights or headlamps, the long exposure is enough to turn the foreground red.).
JURIED PHOTO DISPLAY in the RIPARIAN ROOM
We are looking forward to announcing another juried show in the Riparian Room. Details are still being developed and will be announced as soon as we know. Topics will be posted in the October newsletter as well as at the October meeting
