FRIENDS OF THE TUALATIN RIVER NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE WEB SITE PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Friends of Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge (Friends of Tualatin River NWR) collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a "User") of the friendsoftualatinrefuge.org website ("Site"). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by Friends of Tualatin River NWR. Friends of Tualatin River NWR are committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our members and visitors to the Site. This policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting your personal information. This policy applies to Friends of Tualatin River NWR and to any person providing services on our behalf. A copy of this policy is provided to any User on request.

Personal identification information

We may collect personal identification information such as your name, address, phone number and email address from Users in a variety of ways, including, but not limited to, when Users visit our Site, register on the site, subscribe to the newsletter, fill out a form, and in connection with other activities, services, features or resources we make available on our Site. Users may, however, visit our Site anonymously. We will collect personal identification information from Users only if they voluntarily submit such information to us. Users can always refuse to supply personally identification information, except that it may prevent them from engaging in certain Site related activities.

Information we may receive from third parties

We may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you access our website or Service through a third party connection or log-in, for example, through Facebook Connect, by “following, liking etc.” that third party may pass certain information about your use of its service to Friends of the TRNWR. This information could include, but is not limited to the user ID associated with your account, (for example your Facebook UID), an access token necessary to access that service, any information that you have permitted the third party to share an access token necessary to access that service, any information that you have permitted. Our Site may use "cookies" to enhance the User’s experience. When you visit the site, we may send one or more cookies- a small text file containing a string of alphanumeric characters to our computer that uniquely identifies your browser and lets the Site help you log in faster and enhance your navigation through the Site. A cookie may also convey information to us about how you use the Site (e.g., the pages the pages you view, the links you click and other actions you take on the Site), and allow us to track your usage of the Site over time. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive after you close your browser. Persistent cookies may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Site. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Log file information

Log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device each time you access the Site. When you use our Site, our servers automatically record certain log file information. These server logs may include anonymous information such as your web request, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks and how you interact with links on the Service, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.

Clear gifs/web beacons information

When you use the Site, we may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons) which are used to anonymously track the online usage patterns of our Users. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. The information is allows for more accurate reporting and improvement of the Service.

General Communications

We use the information we collect or receive, such as your email address, to communicate directly with you. We may send you emails containing newsletters, promotions, and special offers. If you do not want to receive such email messages, you will be given the option to opt out or change your preferences. We also use your information to send you Site-related emails (e.g., account verification, donations and billing confirmations and reminders, changes/updates to features of the Site, technical and security notices). You may not opt out of Service-related emails.

How we use collected information

Friends of Tualatin River NWR may collect and use Users personal information for the following purposes:

• To improve our Site

We may use feedback you provide to improve our services.

• To process payments

We may use the information Users provide about themselves when donating, volunteering or joining the Friends of the TRNWR only to track to that activity. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to inform them of the activity.

• To run a promotion, contest, survey or other Site feature

To send Users information they agreed to receive about topics we think will be of interest to them.

• To send periodic emails

We may use the email address to respond to their inquiries, questions, and/or other requests. If User decides to opt-in to our mailing list, they will receive emails that may include company news, updates, related service information, etc. If at any time the User would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How we protect your information

We adopt appropriate data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information, username, password, transaction information and data stored on our Site.

Storage and Processing

Your information collected through the Service may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Friends of Tualatin River NWR or its subsidiaries, affiliates, or service providers maintain facilities. Friends of Tualatin River NWR may transfer information that we collect about you, including personal information, to affiliated entities, or to other third parties across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdictions around the world. Keeping your information safe

Friends of Tualatin River NWR cares about the security of your information, and uses commercially reasonable safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of all information collected through the Service. To protect your privacy and security, we take reasonable steps (such as requesting a unique password) to verify your identity before granting you access to your account. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to your email communications from Friends of Tualatin River NWR, at all times. However, Friends of Tualatin River NWR cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Friends of Tualatin River NWR or guarantee that information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. Sharing your personal information

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to other Organizations. We may share generic aggregated demographic information not linked to any personal identification information regarding visitors and users with our business partners, trusted affiliates and advertisers for the purposes outlined above. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Site or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters or surveys. We may share your information with these third parties for those limited purposes provided that you have given us your permission.

Third party websites

Users may find advertising or other content on our Site that link to the sites and services of our partners, suppliers, advertisers, sponsors, licensors and other third parties. We do not control the content or links that appear on these sites and are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our Site. In addition, these sites or services, including their content and links, may be constantly changing. These sites and services may have their own privacy policies and customer service policies. Browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link to our Site, is subject to that website's own terms and policies.

Changes to this privacy policy

Friends of Tualatin River NWR has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to review this privacy policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

Children’s Privacy

The Friends of Tualatin River NWR does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register as Users on the Friends of the Tualatin River NWR website without verification of parental consent. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. If you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us by email.

Your acceptance of these terms

By using this Site, you signify your acceptance of this policy. If you do not agree to this policy, please do not use our Site. Your continued use of the Site following the posting of changes to this policy will be deemed your acceptance of those changes.
