Joyfully Connecting Our Community with the Wonder of the Refuge

October 2nd Saturday Work Party

  • October 14, 2023
  • 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Dennis Unit of TRNWR

Registration

Registration is closed

Advanced registration is required for this event. Join us for a morning of habitat restoration followed by a plant walk and a discussion of the ecology of our worksite! Volunteers will get their hands dirty freeing trees and shrubs from English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, then will have an opportunity to get to know our refuge better through the many plants that make their home here. Tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided.

Accessibility Information: This worksite borders a flat turf lawn. The site has 10-15 foot wide flat borders, but slopes steeply downhill to a small body of water. Participants can complete work without leaving the turf lawn if desired. Work will involve bending over and pulling vines or using hand pruners to snip vines. We are happy to make accessibility accommodations as our capacity allows.
